WHAT TO EXPECT

Learn About Our Evaluation Process

Every evaluation is based on your family's specific needs. Evaluations typically occur in three main appointments, including an initial interview with caregivers to gather background information and to determine assessment needs, direct testing with the child, and finally a report review of the evaluation findings as well as information on how to use the evaluation findings to access therapies and school supports.

Evaluations are available for children from 18 months to adolescence.

Many insurance companies require a medical diagnosis to cover medically necessary therapies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.

Involves a comprehensive battery of tests that measure a child's intellectual ability across several domains that impact performance as well as broad measures of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and math.

Evaluations for specific learning disabilities include extensive examination of a child's language, reading, academic, writing, and related skills to determine if the child meets criteria for a specific learning disability in reading (dyslexia) or writing (dysgraphia).

We also provide 1:1 consultations for caregivers in the following areas: communication, speech, social, and play skill deficits, as well as challenging behavior, toilet training, picky eating, and sleep issues.
